Pricing Guide

QUILTING

As a guide, a 'stippling / meandering' and basic edge to edge patterns will be charged at $4.50 per square foot.
To help you get a rough idea on how much your quilt will cost to be completed, I have added a table below to help.

Costs include loading of the quilt onto the long arm machine, thread and basting and to be used as a guide only. The more dense the pattern - the more the fee will be increased due to the amount of time, work and thread that will be used.

FINISHING AND BINDING

The price for machine binding and finishing is also set out in the table below and is a guide only. The charge for binding is at a cost of $2.00 per foot for single binding, and $2.50 for double fabric binding. These prices include the finishing off including darning in ends, the final press and lint removal.

I offer either a single fabric or double fabric binding. The client will need to ensure that they supply enough fabric for me to cut the strips for the binding. An additional contrasting fabric will need to be supplied should you want the binding to be a two coloured binding, and will need to be at least 12 inches longer than the circumference of the quilt (to allow for joining)

How To Calculate The Quilting Cost

Use this formula to calculate the cost of your quilting:

EXAMPLE

-
Multiply quilt width by quilt length: ie., 55” X 75” = 4125 square inches
-
Divide square inches by 144: 4125 / 144 = 28.64 square feet
-
Multiply square feet by price: 28.64 X $4.50 = $128.90
